Yamato-e painting

Yamato-e is a traditional form in Japan's art history. This painting began at Edo age of Japan from 1603 to 1867. Specifically, Yamato-e is a kind of wood block which use to describe the custom, human's activities and scenery in ancient Japan. In the middle of 19 century, the Europe frist found Yamato-e since they saw the packaging of staff which import from Japan is Yamato-e. They feel interested because the simply line in the painting is total different from their art. Consequently, Yamato-e had a space for worldwide art. Many artists from Europe used Yamato-e in their picture. For example, the Japonisme from Vango Vicent.

My favouriteYamato-e is GreatWave, which is also the most famous Yamato-e in the world now. The wave in this picture is very vivid so that people can not image it was created by wood.

It is the first time I use the Japan's symbol in my painting. Finally, the effect is not too bad.

  1. Sisia, I enjoyed reading about your own art work and what different techniques you use and consider using for your projects. I think my favorite was the picture with the chicks. ;-)

When you are writing, your ideas are easy to follow; however, you sometimes use the wrong word form and it appears that some of the ideas are translated. Look at the context of what you want to say and what the word form should be. For example, when it needs to be a noun, adverb or adjective - this will help your writing a lot.

    Keep up the good work!!
