Christmas Market in Vancouver

The topic is little strange which I talking today. Since Christmas Market in Vancouver is just open in winter, it must need wait a long time if you want to visit the market.  It was always located 650 Hamilton St, Vancouver. Many special foods will sell in this market so that you will feel warm even in winter. However, the food is not the stuff which has the most attraction for me. Actually, artifacts are my favorite part when I was in the market. It has a huge amount various handmade artifacts made by different countries. In the above picture, I drawed down some artifacts I bought from Christmas Market last year. The ceramic cup which Poppy was 100 percent handmade that I use it to drink untile now. The Father Christmas is made by wood. You cannot guess this small stuff is an aromatherapy bottle. The Nutcracker came from Switzerland and the company has more than 200 years history. If you are a big fan of vintage artifacts, you should not miss the place. See you next winter.

Winter and Autumn in University of Alberta

Last autumn, I went to Edmonton for the first time. The autumn is very beautiful that I could not imagine the scene before. I many hometown, all the tree are evergreen so that it is difficult to see the fallen leaves and yellow leaves in a year. However, yellow is the symbol for autumn. Although I can see the green during the whole year, I still feel lost abundant color from nature.  I feel this color in Edmonton, especially the University of Alberta. Yellow fallen leaves covered the street; whenever I passed the path, it is very soft feeling under my food. All the tree turned to golden that I even could not saw buildings clearly.

While winter is more beautiful than autumn in my view. Since winter is my favorite season and I never saw the snow before,  it becomes an unforgettable trip when I visited the University of Alberta. I came here after Christmas; thus, you can not know how cold is here.  But I like the weather and snow. The weather gives the University of Alberta totally different color in a year. It is too late to apply the university, but you are ready for send an application, do not miss it.

Poster of Air Pollution (2)

Poster of Air Pollution 1: By dripping paint in a bottle full of water, I hope to intuitively show that the polluted air is spreading to a fresh air environment.

Poster of Air Pollution 2: the space in bulb and crystal ball are transparent and sealed. I draw the smoke as the filament of bulb, and there is a crack on the surface of the bulb which is going to break. And this painting well shows the dangerous air pollution.

Activity of Opening Handbag: this inspiration comes from the current fashionable activity of sharing what you have in your handbag. Such activity can improve the interaction between people. I put such activity in the poster of air pollution to make it as a propaganda poster for activity of opening handbag in 2131. And I hope such poster which is closer to our daily life can help people better understand the meaning of this poster.

Yamato-e painting

Yamato-e is a traditional form in Japan's art history. This painting began at Edo age of Japan from 1603 to 1867. Specifically, Yamato-e is a kind of wood block which use to describe the custom, human's activities and scenery in ancient Japan. In the middle of 19 century, the Europe frist found Yamato-e since they saw the packaging of staff which import from Japan is Yamato-e. They feel interested because the simply line in the painting is total different from their art. Consequently, Yamato-e had a space for worldwide art. Many artists from Europe used Yamato-e in their picture. For example, the Japonisme from Vango Vicent.

My favouriteYamato-e is GreatWave, which is also the most famous Yamato-e in the world now. The wave in this picture is very vivid so that people can not image it was created by wood.

It is the first time I use the Japan's symbol in my painting. Finally, the effect is not too bad.

Resin Egg

Now in many news can be heard some content about life pollution, I want to make one of thing about food pollution. I chose to do the food contamination with egg, because the egg is a kind of common food, easy founding, The inside of an egg is very clean, fit with my design that I want to make the effect of pollution inside.Expression of food contamination by egg’s change.

Resin and acrylic paint to make the egg yolk was inspired by a man named Fukahori Takasuke. One Japanese artist had made a super stereoscopic goldfish, from his way, I thought of using hierarchical method and hierarchical poured into the crystal glue can better draw yolk stereo feeling, color  can also be convenient gradient. Firstly, I collection eggshell from restaurant, wash them, and then poured into the first layer with the crystal glue. In color, I let the egg yolk color oblique gradient, from fresh orange gradually to black.

When the first layer of crystal glue dry, painted the first layer of egg yolk, and then poured into the second layer of crystal glue, and so on, more layers, egg yolk will be more  three-dimensional. visual effect is better.

Poster of Air Pollution

I make a series of posters according to the charts of air pollution. And I hope to show the severity of the air pollution through the posters of air pollution designed by me. Those people who have seen these posters will have a sense of crisis and pressure. I inquire about the types of pollution as well as things related to each pollution. And I want to combine these information together on the paper.

Antigas Mask: with the antigas mask and our daily action of looking into the mirror, I think of what we will see in the mirror when the air pollution become more and more serious in the future. So I want to make resonance through this poster.

Skrik: I draw a man with antigas mask to replace the man in Skrik, Munch’s famous painting. And its background is a scene with smoke from the factories in black and white print. I hope to express a new theme by this famous painting.
